A couple of questions from a potential new player

Let’s have some fights when I arrive/make a run around shops looking for weapons then and mentor me into it lads  I’ll offer cake in exchange ^^

If you’re playing Wintermark there’ll be no shortage of potential sparring partners. However by going to the new player weapon training you will get the actual rules and how to fight safely, rather than the ‘my mate reckons’ version.

Hiya, just a quick one this time:

  • Is an artisan considered a runesmith for Wintermark?

Depends on if the artisan is a runesmith. A runesmith can be an artisan, or not; an artisan can be a runesmith, or not.

They are neither mutually exclusive or intrinsically tied. One is a skillset, the other is an archetype- archetypes being “jobs with associations”.

Just wanted to make sure I don’t need to be a mage to be a runesmith, I reread it a couple of times and it doesn’t seem to be a requirement?

Ahh. Yep, you don’t need to be a mage. Just need to work with runes in some fashion. It’s a magical role, but runes themselves are magic, even before you start getting to magic crafted items.
