Anointing / hallowing non humans

#1

I’ve just ordered some leeches to up my hospital game (they are fake but keen and wriggly).

Can I get them anointed? Hallowed?

Well, there’s already precedent for anointing animals, since we can anoint orcs. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think anointing is definitely meant to target “characters” (including NPCs, which might include unusual things like creatures of the Realms and shapeshifters), whilst hallow is meant to target “items”. Living things of such a small scale used as a tool are a bit of an edge case, so I’d email rules@pd to confirm, but my gut instinct is that your leeches are more of an item than a character, and that Hallow is probably the right way to go.

You can definitely hallow the jar they live in if that’s easier, and then they will be more virtuous becasue of the aura they spend most of their time in in theory.

Also easier to attach the ribbon announcing this to the jar instead of to each individual leach.

PD says no religious leeches. :frowning:
