This coming weekend would have been Event 4, and as with our previous cancelled events, we’ll be relaxing moderation guidelines to encourage people to share more videos and more posts about the things you’re missing about Empire LRP. With this marking the end of an Empire year in which we’ve been unable to run any events we’re really keen to try and go out with a bang, hopefully with the help of the community.
You can find the guidelines here: https://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/empi…/Online_roleplaying and a more in-depth look at the idea in the post we wrote for Event One which you can find here: https://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/empire-wiki/Writing_about_Empire#Video_Diaries
We’re also adding two additional twiddles to these guidelines.
First, we’ve been slowly building up a playlist called “Three Questions” over on our official YouTube channel (http://bit.ly/Questions_Three). These are a series of short videos where crew answer the three questions picked by Clare Evans, who are you, what do you do at PD, and why do you enjoy it? We’re keen to supplement this with some videos from players answering basically the same questions - who are you, what do you do at Empire, why do you enjoy it? You can post them to Facebook if you like, or you can send them to email@example.com and we’ll upload them to the YouTube in a new playlist.
Secondly, we’ve previously focused on videos and posts about the game and this time we’d like to encourage the many artists and artisans who come to Empire to share their work with the group.
Anyone who writes, paints, carves, takes photographs, or sews please feel free to set up a post or a thread here showing off your work and maybe talking a bit about it. With nothing to look forward to but a grim and gray British winter, it’d be great to see out the Year of No Live Roleplaying in a blaze of colour.
I’m especially keen to see what the members of the Empire Illustration Board (https://www.facebook.com/groups/218825845327431/) have been working on.
There’s also some live events over the weekend. If we’ve missed your event off let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll edit it in here and let as many people know as possible.
We’ve also got Luca Da Rè third pub quiz on Friday evening, this time with bonus questions put together by the game team including a fiendish “sports” round from rulesmonger-in-chief Graeme Jamieson. You can find the link to the event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/252144792714448/
Also on Friday, Claire Sheridan will be bringing us some more Songs from the Spires which you can read about here: https://www.facebook.com/events/657673358287155/
During the first event, the game team hosted an Ask Me Anything on Twitch, and we’re planning to do that again on Saturday afternoon (and we will definitely be recording it this time). We’re also planning a bonus project on Twitch which involves a bit of Empire tabletop but we’ll tell you more about that later.
We’re really pleased to see that a fourth virtual Song and Story evening is planned for the event weekend on Saturday evening - https://www.facebook.com/events/330406358316833/
Also on Saturday evening, James Todd is throwing a Marcher-themed pub quiz about Marcher lore and history which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1444607795730272/
On Sunday evening, we have the Imperial Theatre Autumn Festival on Twitch: https://www.facebook.com/events/2649497722046067/
We’d obviously love to see more like this so if you’re doing anything special for the weekend, please email us at email@example.com to tell us about it or let us know in the comments below. We’ll put a timetable together on Thursday to try and let as many people know as possible.
We’re looking forward to seeing what people come up with this time, and getting a timely a reminder of what it’s great about our Empire community.
