My advice re: “where do I fit?” is to have a look at the Wiki and see what Nation perks your interest, rather than crowdsourcing where others think you’ll fit.
It’s your game, go where you think sounds interesting and gives your brain the happy wiggles for what stories you want to tell
Each Nation has distinct flavour and costuming cues, with “standard Renaissance Faire fantasy” sitting as somewhat Dawn, somewhat Marches, somewhat Navarr, somewhat Highguard with how you dress it up and what colour palette you look at.
Costuming is always a constant improvement and tweak sort of affair, so entering with a on brief, but basic, costume gives you chance to play with it
(Said as my character’s kit and lineage trappings have very much evolved since I started playing them near three years ago)
