It’s easy to spot the Real-Money Traders. they are all located on (and just off) the Main street by the Main bar (Which is also Real Money)
Any other stuff for sale on the IC field, you can be fairly confident that it’s for IC money. There are a small handful of people that sell the odd thing for real world money, but they’ll usually be like… 1 unique thing (Like the games that Lorenzo in the League sells). Anything more than that… Well, I’m sure PD would step in, as the official Traders pay to be there.
Me and my mate were working out if we can survive on ONLY IC money all weekend, and we think it might be possible - Drinks and sweets, easy. Savoury is a bit more of a challenge - There are a few places that do a cheese platter, Naga twins in Urizen do sandwiches, Bronwyns Rest in Navaar (The bit thats not in the forest) do lunch packs and I think I saw a group with a stewpot which we could probably negotiate with.
It’s entirely legit for people to sell things for OC cash (with some exceptions around freshly cooked food and alcohol) if they want - the thing official traders get is more opportunity to advertise and a pitch in the main market area.
Genuinelly interested, can you buy a pint of say cider for a couple of rings? The one time I tried alcohol using IC money I was given something akin to a bottle cap in amount to drink. Maybe it was just that particular bar or that particular drink or simply they ran out and had to ration it, but I want to know if normally youd get a pint?
The service economy at Anvil is massively inflated. Cake should not cost 5 rings a slice. Beer should not be 5 rings a pint.
I’ve been selling bags of savoury snacks and some cakes around Anvil for a couple of events now. I think the most I’ve charged was 2 rings for a fist sized chunk of ginger cake.
I will sell it at what I believe people should pay for it, and get into an arguement about Prosperity with everyone who disagrees
Yes.
Same as the real world, it depends where.
There are a couple of ‘Propserity’ bars around, where you pay what you think it’s worth.
Beers and ciders tend to be dished out in halfs or pints, spirit and mixers usually half pint or less - Can’t have too much mixer, can we?
You probably had a speciality thing - a spirit or liqueur - These are usually dished out in shot-glasses. ‘Bottle-cap’ is probably an exaggeration - It might look a tiny amount to someone who maybe doesn’t drink an awful lot, but it’s a legit measure.
You can always ask, but do expect to pay 3-5 rings for a full pint.
It might seem like a lot because you only get 18 rings in your pack, but remember you have your resources too.
I pay 10 rings for a sandwich most events, am I being robbed? Of course, but supply in demand, I choose to pay it because I want my sandwich and I don’t want the hassle of being my own or traipsing my tent to get it. Something is only worth what you are paying for.
Why oh why do I bother with the cake business when I could be a sandwich making businessman!?
The bar shall not be named but I think it might have been some kind of liquor and pretty sure it was late saturday so most likely running low on stock. Wanted to try some drinks with the wife and this is what I gotten for my hard earned money, was not a happy evening. Also, most likely my fault for not asking in advance what am I getting for the rings exactly ^^
