Necklace Lammies?

I have a wee wooden potion bottle on a string with leather flaps behind it to hide the lammie. It is kinda chunky but ideal for on the battlefield.

Interesting…

The various nature of herbs means some use Tic-Tacs etc as appropriate.

I personally have a wooden (ex wine box) with five glass receptacles from Sainsbury’s (£1.25 each) with suitable herb mixes (one with honey). Problem is…
a) This box can’t go on the field its bloody massive.
b) I’m not a fan of carrying glasswear onto a battlefield after an incident involving being knocked down and landing an enamel waterbottle…
c) b precludes carrying the glass in pouches.

The tea bag is a corker for battlefield use, so my glasswear will mostly stay by my IC tent to be used by anyone who needs it, recently created some nice game as you chat about them all etc. I just don’t fancy looking awkwardly at a poor Paramedic as they pull glass shards from my short and curlies, while making small talk about what a muppet I’ve been.

I’m yet to find suitable plastic bottle/jar with corks (also… having searched this one finds a variety of completely colourful results - you have been warned.) A few of these at a pound or two each would suffice for battlefield Physicking… although I can only think of a handful of times I’ve used herbs on the field, normally I tell the wounded to get back and find someone who patch them up in the interim.

How about this kind of thing?

I got six tiny plastic glass-effect bottles from The Works for £6 recently. I wouldn’t trust the corks to hold contents securely, but I don’t often carry potions so I just use an empty one to physrep anything someone gives me.

I have 5 largish glass jars for carrying herbs out of battle situations. I use the small plastic potion bottles containing suitable phys-reps for taking onto the battlefield (to avoid the glass in the body situations). Herbs are measured in Drams (10 drams is roughly 17 grams according to google), so large amounts are not needed as one herb lammie represents 1.7 grams of herb.

I like those little 1ml and 2ml glass bottles with corks.
The narrowing just before the mouth means you can tie string round there and it stays put nicely: useful for attaching to the lammy or wearing round neck IC for quick emergency access.
Because they’re small they’re tough: I’ve never had any break, and some other people I know have had the same experience when playing decidedly rough-and-tumble characters.
(Oh, and a bag of dozens of them survives getting squashed in my luggage.)

Still, for anyone dead set against glass bottles, maybe metal’s an option? A short piece of tube (e.g. copper plumbing-pipe) with a cork in each end? Could work out cheap and fairly quick. Or even a fake bottle like the liao physreps: anything of suitable shape, either painted or wrapped in an IC paper label.

Of course, a lot of the things an apothecary makes aren’t liquid anyway, so there some other container makes sense, e.g. for the ointments.

When passing someone a mana crystal IC, I tend to hold crystal and card in my hand with crystal held out and card half-hidden… then at the last moment turn my hand to give over the card and hide the crystal in my hand.

For the potions, half-size lammies could be made easily enough using the same lamination-pouches that are used at present, though they’d need trimming down.

Concerning mana crystals, I keep my mana cards in a cigarette case - they turn out to be exactly the correct size, and it’s at least better than just using the cards.

As a battle field physik a have an adequate amount of herbs. i tend to phys rep them as a collection of bottles in my tool roll. I hide the lammies in the back and use the act of finding the lammie as part oft he roleplay of searching the bottles.

on a side note, i do tend to have a couple of herbs and the lamies pinned to my hat so they are there for easy use by an other physik if i go down.

You needn’t do that Haystacks, If you are down, you can still gurgle, scream and Talk.
Just tell them, “Vervain! in my, Arrrgh! Oh Virtues! my Pouch!” etc etc.
Lammies on your hat mean that either the photographers will try and avoid you, or if they catch you in a crowd scene, it looks a bit crap.
It also looks a bit rubbish for everyone interacting with you on the field.

If the lammies are mostly covered by the physrep then it wouldn’t bother me too much.

I remember when the Imperial candidates came to speak to the Conclave and how unusual it was that they handed physreps over to the Civil Servants as well as the cards when paying to speak for longer.

I’ve been inspired by this thread and have found on ebay some little muslin bags (a pack of ten for 99p) that are big enough to put the cards in

Sharing this here in case anyone else wants to get some, now the bottle around my next can have the potion card hidden in something that looks IC and the herb cards can also be more IC looking.

Yay! I like cheap and easy solutions like that.

Those look like they’ll do the job

I’ve been working on some permanent phys-reps for potions. Melting left over candle wax into the small glass potion bottles seems to be easy enough and look pretty good. I’m hoping having solid glass will mean that the glass will be less likely to shatter or break if any accidents do happen. There’s also no chance of unexpected leaks. I’ve got tea bags to mix together infusions of feathers in so people have got something to infuse and inhale as well. This thread has definitely inspired me to try and use more phys-reps.

I hide mine behind the massive amount of feathers on said hat. But a small muslin bag would be a good idea.

I wish I’d taken a photo…one of the traders was selling pouches on lengths of material (so could be worn around neck or elsewhere), which came with a thin rectangular leather “wallet” on it as well, obviously designed to carry the lammy in separately, but still attached.

Candle wax is such a good idea, thank you! Much less worry about leaks.

I use tumblestones as my Phys Reps for mana crystals, but then I have lots of pouches to hide the cards in.

ATM I use Snowflake Obsidian as I have Winter and Night…

I have some ideas for potion bottle phys-reps, and if I can pull them off I may have some to sell IC at E2.
