++Sanctioned Events Update++

We’ve done a little bit of work on the sanctioned events pages. We’ve edited the sanctioned events page (https://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/empire-wiki/Sanctioned_events) to contain information for all players, and created a new sanctioned events advice page (https://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/empire-wiki/Sanctioned_event_advice) which contains information more relevant to people planning their own event.

One of the main changes is around the definition of what a sanctioned event is. We’ve explicitly called out the difference between:

  • a Social event - one in which characters get together to roleplay and requires no approval from PD
  • a Sanctioned event - one that includes plot elements and must be approved by PD
  • an Unsanctioned event - one that is not part of the canonical Empire campaign

Due in part to the long dark, there has also been some complications with the in-character date of some recent sanctioned events. To create the least complication for all players we are simply ruling that with the recent memory-effecting mists (detailed in https://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/empire-wiki/Cloud_waves_break), nobody is quite sure when individual events took place.

This means that if you are going to another sanctioned event before the coming Winter Solstice then you are free to roleplay that all the sanctioned events you have been to up to now took place earlier.

We have amended the rules for sanctioned events so that all events must take place in-character in the chronological order that they take place out-of-character. The best way to support this approach is to avoid putting a specific in-character date on your sanctioned event.
