With the early booking deadline coming up on Saturday night, I’m beavering away on Winds of War at the moment. I’m painfully aware that the deadline is approaching like an out-of-control trolley and trying to work out which track I’m tied to. So obviously I’m taking a break to post to Facebook about it.
In case you’re interested, we’re at the “writing and editing and then writing some more while wondering if I can steal time to go buy more licorice” stage.
I’ve also just sent up the Bethsignal to get my photography agents busy on the task of finding me some great emotionally manipulative photos to front the final Winds.
If you’re interested in a bit of light reading about Winds of War, you might enjoy this piece on the wiki which talks generally about how we get from “generals put in orders” to “Winds of War happen”: https://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/empire-wiki/Writing_about_Empire#Writing_Winds_of_War
You may also enjoy the slightly more in-depth look at a specific Winds of War cycle which you can find here: https://wulfboyraff.wordpress.com/2019/10/27/something-something-2112/
The photo is from Beth Dooner’s Summer Solstice album.
I’ve known about the ‘writing about Empire’ page on the wiki for a while but I didn’t actually take the time to properly read it until it was linked here, and I can’t believe the amount of good advice there is in there! Would definitely recc it to anyone who hasn’t had a skim yet.
