I need to buy before the April event a decent Cutlass sword and a basic pirate sword, Maybe a Pole weapon… also I will need to buy 2 daggers, Where is best to buy weapons online or should I wait and get them at the event?

The advice you’ll get from almost everyone is wait until you’re at the event. Being able to hold your new weapon, give it a few swings, and see if you actually like a sword/polearm/warsalmon is a very useful experience.
Plus the added bonus is if your weapon then fails weapons check for some reason, you can go back to the trader and you’re pretty guaranteed to be able to exchange it.
I concur with thresher on both points.
Another option is heading to the Larp Convention in March, a lot of the same weapon traders that are at the event. If you really want some of your list, to practice with before the event.

I was looking at the LARP convention but not 100% with the number of companies compared to waiting for Winter Event
If you check some of the recent posts on the FB event for LarpCon2023 they’ve had some more traders confirm (and they should have more confirm between now and the start of March), from previous ones I’ve been to they normally have a decent selection of stuff to chose from. If you’re within easy travelling distance of the venue near Leicester then I’d recommend popping along.
Typically, there will be a helluva lot more traders at LARPCON than there will be at the event. So if you want a wider array of choice, go to LARPcon. Also, Whats Your Game is coming up as well, so you could always pop your head in there!
Glad you mentioned LARP CON, as i came across that event earlier and now you’ve confirmed it, i think i will try my best to drive up to that event, like you say nothing like physically holding and feeling out your weapon
