Character deaths, how many can you have?

It was done more as a farce, it was early sunday and the bank holiday(so 4 day event) and he wanted some one to finish the event with while having similar kit. Some one mistook him IC as his dead character and it snowballed from there.

I’ve met more than one Sir Temporanius in Highguard for similar reasons.

I’d say running for the OOC area on hearing a fight break out MIGHT be a bit Rule 7, but…

Yeah, I think there are rules against that. Committing crime and running OOC is gross.

Woah, let’s chill on that line of conversation, IC stuff for IC field please.

What ARE the rules on “Running OOC”? I’ve heard it happen multiple times.

I recall in Odyssey you were thematically prevented from doing it due to needing to use a portal to leave the game area, which you couldn’t do when under attack or being chased.

Rule 7. Don’t take the P****

Basically you’re making less fun for yourself as well as other people, which is silly when you’re there to play a game, you’re not playing it.

Leaving the field should really only be done for OOC reasons, which does include your real life mental health if a situation is getting too intense/touching on something you are not comfortable with, but should never be done just to ‘save’ your character.

Unfortunately as this seems to be happening on a regular basis I don’t believe people consider it taking the mick, and it feels like a legit strategy to them.

I think the perception is that it’s happening regularly, probably similar to how everyone knew how common “random muggings” were at Maelstrom, something that wasn’t completely accurate.

If it’s an issue I would expect PD to update the conduct or rules pages over Winter as they work through stuff.
