Coin sizes?

Just a quick question, does anyone know the dimensions for each of the coins? Looking at making a change sorter to save me digging though a coin purse looking for a certain coin, thanks!

I’ll check when I get home tonight (if no one has responded by then), I know that the 5r/1c/1T pieces are the same size, and I’m pretty sure anything bigger than that probably doesn’t need to be sorted?

Probably not no, but i am curious as to the size of some of the larger currencies now, so if you know that would be great, thank you!

In case it helps, the Coins section of the “Game items” page on the wiki has a photo of all the coins so you can see how large they are relative to each other. So you could measure from that photo and then scale everything by how large one of the coins you had to hand actually was.

Thats still great thanks, and thanks for the wiki page, I’d seen it but hadn’t thought to scale it up, good idea thank you

1 ring is 20mm
5 ring is 25mm
1 crown is 25mm
4 crown is 30mm
1 throne is 25mm
5 throne is 30mm
20 throne is 38.5mm

All measurements are approximate, using a really old ruler from my youth. Pictures below:

The ruler is not the best, but is what I could find.

But is it right or wrong? :joy:

Yes

Are they all different thicknesses too? I’m just curious

kind of… not by much.

The larger coins are definitely thicker. I can usually pull the right denomination out of a bag by feel alone (of the smaller denominations, at least!), and a 4cr is definitely thicker than a 5r.

I would actually argue that the thicknesses are all the same, if you take the widest point of each coin.

The crowns and thrones have a full thickness out to the rim and the letters are cut into the coin, where the rings have a very thin rim, while the letters are raised.

I agree that it makes it easier to feel them out, but the thickness is effectively the same if you are stacking them.

I’ll check again tonight, if it is required.
