I’m Emmanuel Katto from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) about to turn 18 in a few months, and I’m really excited to attend the Empire LRP in 2025! This will be my first LARP event, and I’m looking for some help. I live in a coastal town in East Yorkshire, and I’ve never traveled long distances by myself before, so I’m a bit nervous about the logistics.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a mode of transport at the moment, so I was wondering if anyone, or maybe a group of people, would be willing to help me with travel if they’re passing through East Yorkshire? I’d be more than happy to contribute towards gas/petrol and any other expenses.
If anyone is able to assist or has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it if you could get in touch!
Welcome along Emmanuel! I thought for a moment you were going to ask for travel advice from Dubai, which would have been a little trickier!
East Yorkshire should be fine. There are Empire players all over, and you can probably find some folk to give you a lift, although you may need to meet them someehere via public transport (eg a train to Hull and then meet them there).
For that matter, if you can manage public transport, PD do a coach shuttle from nearby transport hubs to/from the site.
But if you want to drive down with someone (and that’s a good choice, especially for your first visit), asking here or on the relevant Facebook page is a good idea.
Hi as someone from hull I know but yet am to meet players from hull trying to network around here is like getting blood out of a stone if you don’t use Facebook like me I’m hoping to take my soon to be 12 year old son down so may be able to help hopefully
