It’s an observation that’s been made a couple of times, about the difference between the sort of armour you find in computer games or cosplays, vs the armour that gets worn and used more in LARP:
If you have real people running and fighting and falling around in it, you can’t get away with some of the more visually impressive designs…
There are scads of historical armour types, many (but not all) of them suitable for Empire in one nation or another.
So for anyone looking at buying (or indeed making) armour for Empire, I would reccomend looking at a few historical designs for inspiration, instead of that really cool set from that game.
