Favourite Empire Fiction?

I know there’s a lot of Empire related fiction out there I haven’t read so I’m looking for some recommendations of the good stuff.

I’ll kick things off with a few recommendations of my own.

Here’s two stories from the League via the Empire Fiction Livejournal Community

The Case of the Waxen Butterfly - a taster of a great locked room style mystery, left me wanting the whole novel.

Guild Assembly - a great little bit of fic with a killer of a conclusion.

Boarskin Vest - The scene setting here is cool and it also made me laugh.

I’d recommend just about anything by awillathehun (Verni Cursebreaker IC – William Dawnson OC) – he has a great way of bringing across both the character and the world around him. Here’s a couple of links to his stuff:

This is a very nice bit of background fic, by a friend of mine of whose writing I am eternally jealous. In which adorable naga brothers wake up:

Another fic writer I’m rather jealous of for his talent is requiem_17_23, aka Ian, aka Iulian, aka the incredibly tall Urizen briar. I really like his head-space fics. Here’s one of his recent ones:

There’s a lot of good stuff to choose from, but I have a soft spot for loopymushroom’s fics about her character Clarice Novarion - a particularly striking example is her reflection on Vashti’s Penitents.
Also very memorable are nayela’s fics for Raelyn Holdfast, not least these two, which really capture the mindset of both the Navarr and the naga lineage.

This piece of whimsy just makes me glee. There are many blasphemies, and this fic is my favourite one.
