I am a new artisan and wondering how the bonding items to players works and what I need to do after the bonding is done to the player.
Have a great day everyone

Fluff speaking, you’ll need to do a little RP of bonding the person to the item, 30 seconds will do. Mechanically speaking, it needs to be done with a ref or at GOD - the player being bonded will need their PID, your PID as the bonder, and the item ID that is on the ribbon. I’m not sure if you need to be there for that - it might be worth going along the first time and asking. And don’t forget that you can only bond someone to an item you know how to make!
An item can be bonded either by a Magician Using the Create Bond Spell or an Artisan who can Create Bond for any item that they understand how to make.
Both are done the same way.
Step 1: Procure a Ref, this can usually be done by going to the regio, the ref tent near Dawn or speaking to an NPC with an ear piece who can summon one for you (Egregore)
Step 2: Inform the Ref of what you are doing, PID of the Target, ID of the Item and PID of the Caster.
Step 3: Perform thirty seconds of appropriate bonding roleplay during which you must be in arms reach of the target throughout, must not be hit, etc.
Step 4: Ref will inform you that the bonding was successful and will inform the target of exactly what the item is and if it has lost its charge (ie: been used by anyone else first).
I hope that helps.
Thank you everyone for the great advice
Just a few quick notes on procuring a ref:
If you need someone to come to you for access reasons, we’ll always support that. But the ref team is not huge, so it’s more efficient for both us and the players if people come to one of the fixed points if they can manage the walk.
Where is the ref tent?
It’s a little bit onto the Wintermark/Dawn field, near the toilet block there. We’ve only had it in place since E3 and it’s still bedding in a bit.
