Hey folks this is a thread to share your favourite vocals when casting rituals and spells.
There’s some examples on each of the spells on the wiki and some suggestions of things to include on each ritual.
So what do you recite on the field when making all cower at your magical power? 
I usually start and end all my rituals with a declaration of identity and intent. I’ll make to put the same at some point in a spell. I like everyone to know what’s happening and who’s doing it, and do so in a loud voice.
I’m a winter ritualist, but also a battlefield healer, which aren’t exactly concepts that mesh well together. My intention (and I’ve not fully fleshed this out) is to play on the “sacrifice” aspect of Winter, and as part of the healing I will interrogate the person asking for healing why they need it, how they got the wounds, and make sure it’s clear to them that the bargain they are making with my healing is that they are being healed specifically so they can go back to battle and gain new wounds.
Additionally, as an Urizeni, I do like them stars. I’ve got some wooden cups that I plan to paint the Chalice onto, will carry water with me and maybe make them drink from them? These are all half formed ideas, for sure.
Stay With Me roleplay vocalisations I’ve used:
“You’re a Fkin idiot [name redacted], get the Fk up and Stay With Me or I’ll never hear the end of it”
“GET UP GET UP GET UP GET UP GET UP GET UP [repeat for 5secs]”
“Oi, no you don’t, you’ve got shit to do still, Stay With Me, you’re not getting off that easy”
[miming kicking my target] “I’m going to keep kicking you until you get up again. You’re gonna fking Stay With Me”
My usual Unstoppable vocalisation:
“TRY HARDER FUCKOS, BECAUSE I AM UNSTOPPABLE”
My usual Cleave roleplay:
[big dramatic swing] NICE LEG [cheesey grin]
Operate Portal

Ah, so the uplifting, comforting Spellcaster who communicates their intent clearly and with little room for misinterpretation.
I’m a Winter Ritualist/ battlefield healer; it works fine! I tend to use spell vocals along the lines of “I heal you with the power of Winter. Scars form, flesh knits, pain teaches us lessons. What lessons have these wounds taught you?”
Dawnish Healer Mage… I’m likely to end up using this for most spells…
(all slowly and carefully pronounced)

What once was one has come apart

My Freeborn’s standard operate portal vocals are:
“The bonds twixt this place and the place beyond are as the bonds twixt me and my family, my family and the Coast, and the Coast and the Empire. May these bonds of Loyalty propel me from this place to one within, one without, one a part and apart.”
Detect Magic:
“Ophis, Bright Lantern that reveals, and Diras, Rune of Secrets, be the lenses through which I perceive the world. Dissolve the veneer of mundane reality and let me divine what is truly there.”
I’m pretty strict on realm resonances, despite having favourite realms. The wiki is quite clear on which realms spells are best aligned with, and I stick to them. Trying to make anything fit your favourite realm just creates bad habits IME, and is the same line of thinking that leads people to create failed arcane projections in the wrong real (listen to the podcast!). I always use Spring for Heal and Restore limb, despite having no interest in Spring ritual magic.
My vocals for Heal and Purify are taken from guided meditation. There’s quite a common meditation technique of focussing on every part of the body from head to toe in turn and relaxing it. For Heal, I start from the bottom and replace the bits about relaxing muscles with healing every wound (regardless of where the person was hit) and bringing life energy from the ground. For Purify I reverse it, and have purifying light coming down from above and driving out the venom/weakness from the head down.
