Hi, I am very new to this, had a go at the medieval festival last weekend (had a wonderful time, thanks to the profound decisions team that were there, you were all amazing) and am currently planning on making it to E1 of 2026. Quick question about resources, if you get herbs from a herb garden or materials from a mine during downtime, at the end of an event, if they are not used up, do you get to keep them for the next event and for example have more drams of one herb than you would start an event with?
I hope the question makes sense lol
edit: does this also apply to potions you make or have, i.e. can you start an event with potions if you made them last time and didnt use them
All of the materials from personal resources (metals, woods, liao, herbs, mana, cash) last indefinately.
You can certainly carry them over from one event to the next, trade them round, buy/sell them, and keep them in a locked box for years.
Potions made from herbs also last indefinately.
Only enchanted items (e.g. magic swords) have an expiry date*, and that’s a year from creation.
My House (Dawnish group) tends to keep a pack of potions and a couple of protective items topped up and ready for knights heading out a-questing. I myself have a stash of mana crystal built up over months of play, when I didn’t use them all up.
*the exception to this is Artefacts, which are built to last and are VERY expensive)

Artisan resources (mine and forest things represented by resin blocks) and herbs, mana crystals and liao (represented by cards) and most potions (represented by cards or tearable lammies) do not expire, and can be taken home and brough back to the next event as if your character had just put them in your pocket. You can keep the coins too!
You only need to book them in at the end of the event if you plan to do something with them for your character’s downtime (an artisan making magical items, apothecary making potions, magician planning Arcane projections etc).
So yes plenty of characters will have more than just the output of one event on them, in fact for many artisans they will need 2 or 3 resources worth of stuff to make an item - which could be their own resources traded over several events, or them and 2 mates clubbing together!

Ah perfect, thank you, thats exactly what i was looking for
And as a thing to think about as well;
You will also (every event you play) get IC pocket money. (18 rings, which is usually enough to cash buy a very decent cup of tea/small slice of cake from certain IC, player driven coffeeshops)
Note, this is not the only way you can pay for things
Your personal resource (herb garden, mana site, Liao from congregation, etc) provides you with trade bennies…and/or things you can sell for more coin
(Prosperity isn’t just coin, make use of this as a newer player.
…oh, that and your resource is your’s to do what you want with it.
You are well within your rights, if an IC group you’re looking at bouncing in with asks for a ‘group tithe’/‘group tax’ as part of ‘we’ll link you in,’ to tell them to jog on.)
