It's beginning to look a lot like

… two weeks to the event because my house is full of projects and only half of them are done.

But on the plus side I managed to make some trousers this afternoon by looking at my hakama, measuring, guessing, and ending up with a lovely pair of loose trousers that look nothing like the hakama. But they are base kit, and they have the look of robes about them (new character is in Urizen), so I’m happy with them.

That’s the major thing I was worried about kit-wise*, so now I can get started on everyone’s favourite**: hand embroidery.

Has anyone else got any kit projects on the go?

[*] Music is a whole other ball game but I discovered my ocarinas work in Day mode so that’s a solid start.
[**] Some people like embroidery, and they are allowed to, but this is not a skill I have honed over the years so I’ve been procrastinating about it for a while now in the hopes that maybe it’ll magically create itself.

I did some rough soft kit packing a few weeks back and realised that the cowl I’ve been wearing is exactly the wrong shade of grey to go with my (re-dyed from pale blue to solidly grey) standard sleeveless summer tunics

I discarded doing anything new… until I realised that I’m avoiding the scarf method of doing Highborn nonsense. (Mostly as my previous character always wore a scarf/snood to avoid having the “so, what got you?” Lineage trapping conversation)

So, I’ve got most of a cowl/hood to still assemble

And that’s it for this time

(The larger embroidery project isn’t really an issue until before E3…and it’s almost done anyway.

…As someone who loves embroidery because I’m absolutely shit at making clothes from scratch, but can properly tart up a piece of bought kit with some time and thread)

Kit is solid. Remembered to print out pre-historical contracts with unearthly beings in advance this time (blame the Academy).

Got hit by a filk bug this afternoon, but dealt with that quickly.

What’s going to get me is that I have work on Monday after the event that I cannot get out of :stuck_out_tongue:

It is time for the seasonal wrestle with the printer!

This year featuring BONUS! new printer that I’ve never used before and is incredibly slow.

Still. There shall be music booklets, I have decreed it thusly and if needs be I’ll dig out the old printer and endure that known enemy.

This may be a really dumb question so sorry in advance. I have an ocarina and was considering getting better with it to play at events but what do you mean that they work in day mode??

Sorry, that’s a super-specific reference to Music of the Spheres and a flippant comment about my ocarina that isn’t strictly true: being pitched in G doesn’t make it a ‘Day instrument’ but it makes it easier on my brain. I could play it in any other mode if I wanted to: being an ocarina doesn’t inherently make it more Day or anything like that!

And yes! Do practice your ocarina, they are lovely instruments and it would be lovely to hear more of them on the field. I know of one other who was last in the Marches last time I heard them, but they aren’t common.

Ah, the printer joys

…I’m waiting on the last bits for conjunctions to drop so I can actually finish my easy read/goes up on Urizen and Highguard’s message boards chart

And then print off an I’ll advised number to hand out/post up

Ah ok, im still very new lol. Are you going to be there this weekend?? It would be nice to make some friends and see someone else play or maybe even get some practice in?? Im still not very good

I am, I’m always happy to meet fellow musicians.

Despite my current profile picture from Varushka, I’m going to be in Urizen from this summit. People may not know Theodora yet as this will be my first event with her, but they will know the Zenith Ascendant spire who can direct you my way. I have OC fatigue issues so I may be napping but at least you’ll know where to find me.
