The League Look and Feel page has just been updated, and it’s gorgeous.

Miranda Brennan’s notes on what has changed.

Nothing that was previously on brief has been removed from the brief. The brief has been expanded in several places and more detail added too.

Here’s a rundown of the most significant changes:

  • An explicit reminder that no garment is gendered in Empire, including in the League, despite the real-world historical inspirations for our costume brief.

  • Trousers/hose brief now includes some loose fitting options, and the option of shorts for those who want them!

  • Dresses can have high waists, yes, but they can also now have low waists. The key is the cut and the sleeves.

  • Confirmation that doublets and skirts can be worn together.

  • Expanded guidance on hats, from more expensive/elaborate hats through to a budget option!

  • The Waffenrock, worn by many of you in the field, now featured in the brief! (Don’t know what a waffenrock is? Never fear, we’ve got you!)

  • New information on items that are less appropriate or inappropriate.

  • Illustrations of how the ‘League silhouette’ can look in different pieces of kit on a variety of bodies, by the fantastic Becka Champion AKA Lampblack Art!

  • lllustrations of different possible styles of League sleeve by the wonderful Katie Clark!

  • Costume notes for Bishops, Battle and Magic! Including a note that masks can be carried on a stick if you don’t want them on your face.

  • A sumptuous photo gallery of a great many great outfits!
