I’m new to larp but have rp experience in mmos I’m interested in attending a event in a couple of months or so when I can get my gear sorted so if any groups would like to recruit me let me no also I’m from essex so if anyone if from Essex let me no I could use help getting started
Have you joined the wintermark facebook page? you may have more luck on there. There will be someone along from the mark to help eventually. Make a quick search for the other new player threads and see what is said there and if you have other specific questions just ask.

I completely concur, Dawn has a knightly feel while the marchers have English civil war feel. The league are Flamboyant as F…, the navarr are sneaky and scared of plant zombies. ect

Yes I choose wintermark as I’m a fan of Norse mythology I love nords from skyrim and I absolutely love the starks from game of thrones so that’s why I choose them
Understandable reasons to go for Wintermark, aye - the base costuming is similar in some ways to Viking clothing, and there’s that “standing against the cold” thing from the Wintermark page:
Here is Wintermark, where the frozen wind howls down from the eternal storm of Sydanjaa to face men and women stood shoulder to shoulder, holding steadfast against the cold. Revelling in battle, the indomitable Winterfolk stare down every threat with their heads unbowed, for they know that death is only the long sleep before the dawn. Always courageous, they commit themselves to every challenge, matching wits and weapons against worthy foes, forging victory from adversity on the anvil of the north.
Worth pointing out that the religious and spiritual stuff in Wintermark won’t be all that much like Norse mythology, though - ravens may symbolise wisdom, for example, but that’s in the context of the religion in the Empire as a whole, which doesn’t have gods like the Norse ones.
It does have its own cool religious stuff like the idea of a person having a skein formed of the decisions they have made in life, and people possibly becoming ‘frayed’ as a result of crime, greed, cowardice or simply bad decisions and then working to mend their skein so it doesn’t break.

Fair enough! The only reason I asked is a lot of new players are flocking to Wintermark due to the videos put out recently about Empire.

I heard about empire from YouTube but I believe the people in it are dawn they were in heavy knight armor I made my decision by looking at the style of each faction and decided what I liked the most as I said before I love Norse mythology I picked steinr as I like the Rohan look from Lotr also I not into the knight look myself.
