Newbie questions and clothing advice

Hey all

I am looking to start coming to Empire during 2025 and i have never ever done anything LARP related, i am not new to RP as i play Pathfinder 2E every week (Similar to DnD).

I am leaning towards joining Highguard so i was wondering as i am kind of terrible at reading if they have a particular colour scheme?

As it will be my first time i am not look to spend a fortune on clothing/equipment so recommendations would be awesome!

Hallo and welcome

Highguard is a National costume brief that follows a majority black or white (if you’re a brave soul) base with a rich colour “pop” in small doses

As concept there’s groups in field which wear;

  • Solid black base kit with the chapter symbol in silver-grey with a bright orange sash/trim to the tabard
  • Solid white base with gold trim and russet details/off-set
  • Solid white with bright orange
  • Black base with grey and white chapter symbol
  • Black base with white and forest green

The best place to look for the info/flavour of soft kit and armour is on the Nation “Look and Feel” page of the Wiki.

Kit wise, I’ve had good luck with modifying pieces from H&M, New Look, Primark, and M&S for my base layers for my current character who is Highborn…but I also have sewn a few pieces

…and have gone slightly contra to the colour, but rely heavily upon cut of kit to show Nation
