Hi all, I know this is all very last minute but I have some leather armour that I need to paint to make it more mage-y, the people I brought it from said to use acrylic? I’m happy to do that but not sure about waterproofing or if I should be using anything else??
All help greatly appreciated.
Acrylic will stick, but it will flake and craze like chaos
Best bet is either acrylic + fabric medium, or coughing up for Angelus Leather Paint
I’ve had some success with acrylic on semi-rigid armour, and then painting varnish over the top.
Something that gets flexed a lot (leather jacket) will lose paint quickly. My mage armour (which is usually the same shape, maybe flexing on one axis) has lasted years.
As noted, painted on varnish, a couple of coats, to help guard and protect.
