Nation: The League
Coven: " Accademia dell’Arte " (Guild of the Arts)

A very new guild with a new and exciting concept. The Accademia is a post-qualifying college for artisans, artists, architects, poets, philosophers and performing magicians. If you are a performing mage, crafter or simply a merchant wanting to patronise the arts, then look no further! The Accademia is the place to be this Coming year.

In truth, the Accademia is a home for all free-thinkers and bohemian arty types who want to refine their art for wealth and acclaim …that is, in between all the revelling in the Imperial taverns, composing songs, writing plays and generally enjoying all the boisterous capers and excesses that Anvil has to offer.

Everyone is welcome, but we are especially interested at recruiting Autumn Mages at the moment (for wealth generating rituals).

Interested? Give us a shout.
-Paul-

p.s. on the field, I am Giacomo “The Jack of All Trades” Genio di Tassato. We have a 5m bell tent as our guild headquarters. Signage coming soon!

Hi Folks,

A couple of us have created a new chapter in Highguard called “The Eagle’s Eye” and have been looking to recruit a few more players ideally new starters. We’re a group with ages from 17 - 21 who want to really get into the political/role playing side of empire. If you feel this is something you’d be interested in, reply to this thread and I’ll add you into our Facebook group; I can provide more details about the group on inquiry.

Thanks,
Jay (Gideon)

Bumping this one so it’s visible for folks in 2017.

Im looking to join an Urizen spire IC soon, but would like to be informed OoC to narrow down my picks. Are the spires listed above current? An update would be great.

I recognise three out of the four in this thread (and I don’t play in Urizen do can’t be sure the fourth doesn’t exist) so I’d say contact the one that suits you best and see if they are still recruiting.

Nation: Urizen
Banner: Citadel of Oblivion’s Edge
(Part of the Coven of Auric Horizon)

The deserted Spire of Oblivion’s Edge stands as close to the Black Plateau as it was safe to build a settlement. Created to watch over the Black Plateau, to monitor its dangers and its phenomena, Oblivion’s Edge was lost when Spiral fell some fifty years ago, and is now nothing but a ruin.

In a haze of Ambition and Pride, Cato of the Spire of Auric Horizon offered to move to Grendel-infested Spiral, to carefully rebuild Oblivion’s Edge into a Citadel surpassing its former glory. Plans include an observatory overseeing the Black Plateau and a new training ground for Sentinels and Mages alike to refine their battlefield arête, their Vigilance and their learning of magic.

Remaining a part of the Coven of Auric Horizon - and acting as a “sister Citadel” to the Spire of the same name - Oblivion’s Edge will be focused on Marksmanship and the realm of Summer, however the facilities created here will be open to all visiting Sentinels and Mages of the Empire.

All future Sentinels and Summer mages of Urizen are encouraged to join the Citadel and will always be offered hospitality as appropriate.

There are three members planning to join the Banner in 2018, once current characters have been retired. The Banner isn’t hidden on the system; new members are welcome but please contact me, Gryph Lane (Cato of OE) in the first instance.

All four (well, five now) Urizen groups are extant. Whether all of the others are still welcoming new members, I don’t know.

Hi, I’m new to this and was wondering if anyone was looking for a new member for a Varushkan band? I plan on attending the winter solstice of 2018 as my first event.

Is there ,any open halls in wintermark who need new members for this years LARP? I am asking because I am from Canada and new to larp also want to join this year’s Empire event and I do not have any British friends in England.

Highguard chapters haven’t made an appearance…

Do many people just go to an event without a chapter and join one while there or is it best to join one before going ?

This is a slightly old thread I know some groups are no longer recruiting and there are others recruiting not on here. Either we will hopefully get a newer recruitment thread closer to the event.

Or in the mean time check your respective nations Facebook pages. There’s always people on there looking for groups, and people will be willing to help.

The Highguard FB page is usually the most active for recruitment.
We have recruited some online before turning up in the field, but most groups are very happy to recruit in the field, someone will usually host you until you have a permanent home, and many groups have kit they can lend out both to get you in uniform and to equip you for battle.

Highgurad brief does say that changing chapter or choosing a chapter after a period of military service is quite common, so there is an IC reason for tuning up and asking around which helps.

Highguarder here. My chapter -The Suns of Couros- prefers to recruit in the field. Come find us, we’ll have a chat and we can both work out if we’re right for each other.

As @CharlieP said, the Facebook group tends to be more active for recruitment than these forums. I’d also recommend looking at the prominent chapters page on the wiki, to get an idea of the different groups and their remits.

The facebook page seems to be a good place to ask! I posted on there and i got swamped with replies of people who were either recruiting, advice to meet people when i get there and see which ones take my fancy or just some general advice about attending!

Here’s the link to the Wintermark page if you want to take a look around.

will I never Larp before thats why I need a helping hand.

Kartorian: Told ya so!
RedfighterWilder: You’ll be fine. Bring an imagination, don’t be afraid to ask around, and remember that we were all new to it once.
I strongly suspect that Wintermark has several groups happy to take you through the first steps, at your own speed.
