Hello my Navarri Brothers, Sisters and Siblings from beyond the binary!
Sorry it has taken me so long to post here I’m only just getting back to this so-called reality, but I have been avoiding my PC and social media going on hikes and nature walks, had a lovely 10 mile hike over the Sussex downs yesterday.
My name is Ró (short for Robert) and I had the immense pleasure of playing Rónán Dubhshláine aka “The Bear Pit Guy” (The only of my character alias’s that I didn’t make up for myself but the one I wear with the most pride!) at E4 2025 and my pronouns are He/They/Fae.
Wow what an amazing event that was! Honestly it was everything I hoped it would be!
I feel like some thankyou’s are in order: -
It should go without saying, but thank you to everyone who ran this amazing LARP event, you have raised the bar so high in what a live action roleplay festival should be.
Thank you to the participant welfare team, my cute lil noggin is quite neurospicy and had a couple of wobbles thanks to overstimulation and they really helped me out.
Thank you to all of my newfound Navarri family, this was my first event back at PD since the very first Empire 1.0 over 10 years ago ( IYKYK ) and to reflect this I decided to play the prodigal son angle with my character, one who’s mother for reasons you may or may not find out in character, fled her people with baby Rónán strapped to her back and never returned. Now 40 years later Rónán has returned to lay the remains of his late mother to rest in the Corpse Glade, and both in and out of character I can say from the bottom of my heart that I have never felt so at home, so amongst my own in a place I have never before set foot in.
I’d like to thank some individual players who I remember having some great 1 on 1 roleplaying moments with who are (please forgive me if you introduced yourself with your “real” name as well as your character’s, I have trouble remembering those): -
Thank you Ghost,
Thank you Selwyn,
Thank you Mouse,
And thank you to the Big Dawg! Can’t wait for our sparring session next April, it’s gonna be legendary! (And possibly lucrative if we charge people to spectate! LMFAO)
Lastly I found Mouse’s flyer for the Navarri Dancing group nearing the end of the event which I was really interested in (both in and out of character there’s nothing more I like to do than express myself through movement) but try as I might to seek her out in character she was no where to be seen which got me a little worried she may have had to leave early for some reason. If anyone knows her, or indeed if you see this yourself Mouse, let me know that you’re ok.
I think that about does it for now.
Love and light,
Ró
