Showing off my Outfit

I made a post a while ago asking for some help to do with picking a nation. Well I have settled on Varushka. Here is my costume for my first ever larp next September (If it doesnt get cancelled that is).

Hope to meet you there!

PS: The slippers and iron board are not part of the costume ; )

Leg wraps, asymmetrical coat, a hat… great work!

Looks great, and very obviously varushkan.

If you want to add a bit more can I suggest keeping an eye out for some braid in red and white and adding that to your cuffs and neck line, would be the next obvious step!

Hey, welcome to Varushka!

Looks good, you’ve definitely got a strong Varushkan style! I would echo CharlieP, braid is a great way of adding a splash of colour, and is a classic Varushkan staple

Looking forward to meeting you in the field, feel free to ask any more questions here before then if you need to!

I really like the generous-sized Haversack. It’s nice how the top of it lines up with the top of your belt line. Little details like that are what distinguishes an outfit, imo. The leg-wraps on baggy pants really make the silhouette awesome. Also the hat looks comfy, lol. Actually the whole get-up looks comfy as hell to wear.
Have you considered finishing the whole thing off with a Varushkan-looking bit of jewelry, like a necklace?
(You could always wait until September, and see what the vendors have got before time-in)

Thanks! And yes, the outfit is really comfy and very, very warm. Getting a nice and noticeable necklace or amulet is a good idea. I found some really good looking ones on google already. I think I’ll try getting one from the vendors on site. Would be a nice keep-sake.

Any advice on what would be considered Varushkan jewellery? The wiki doesn’t say much about it.

(Disclaimer: not Varushkan, but if I was playing one next this is what I’d be looking for.)

Amber and other semi-precious stones. Woven beadwork with intricate designs that echo embroidery. Chunky pendants, necklaces with multiple dangles. Colourful glass and metal beads. Tiers of necklaces/bracelets worn together.

Definitely covers the question “If I looked at this person would there be any doubt as to which nation they are from?”

See you in the field.
