I am attending my first event E1 2026 and I’m playing a Navarr who wants to research the Vallorn and how to rid the world of it once and for all.
Does anyone have any stories relating to the Vallorn (more than just the wiki pages) on encountering it, fighting it. What kind of creatures have you seen? Is it mainly husks that you fight at empire?
The wiki says the Vallorn has been beaten back but doesn’t explain how, does anyone know any more info on that?
Oooo, you’ve picked an interesting time for that topic…
I’m not sure if you have come across this page, which collected together a lot of information:
(note that this was over the last winter…)
A lot of the information you want, and the stories, will be more profitably found in play, I suspect. But Vallorn-associated beasts encountered at the events have included husks, ettercaps, elytra, and Dire Canthon.
A lot of the things detailed in the Winds of War like the one below are not feasible to produce in play

Welcome to Navarr!
Best nation by far! Though I’m told other opinions do exist.
To echo Geoffrey, collecting stories makes for a great in-character goal; it’s a sound reason for your character to come to Anvil (rather than just go read at The Great Library of Hacynian in Hercynia) and a perfect excuse to talk with practically anyone in the field, since other nations do get involved as well.
The flipside is that stories can also run the risk of breaching the online roleplaying rules about pushing an agenda, so players can be reluctant to share just in case. But if you use Facebook, there’s a specific fanfic group where you might find some: “Empire LRP: Fiction Sharing” Redirecting...
The rest below is all referencing the wiki so you may have read them already. Equally it’s a big wiki and bits of Vallorn lore are scattered about here and there.
As far as beating back the Vallorn, the Reclamation of Seren on the wiki implies that a region’s worth of Vallorn would become active in reaction to the drain of it’s Spring magic by the trods, lash outward and then leave itself vulnerable to attack. But the same piece also says that’s not definitively how it was done every time before that. More was possibly known in-world before Emperor Nicovar burned down all the libraries.
Quoting the colour text from the ritual Dance of Navarr and Thorn:
“Once the wild chaos is tamed, then we may move against the vallorn itself. The beasts that live on the body of the vallorn and breathe its tainted air secure it in place. They are the dancers, while the vallorn is the design. It is never swift, but when we have drawn enough power we can strike to clear the vallorn from a place.”
In the abstract, the Navarr nation and the Empire knows that sort of information, as the Great Library plot (that led to A Thousand Years of Longing that Geoffrey linked already) provided details of ways to destroy the Vallorn utterly and stated that the Empire has learned everything that can be learned about the Vallorn. But as far as I’m aware, players don’t have exact details beyond what’s on the wiki.
Seeking out past and present Advisors on the Vallorn is probably going to get you the most up-to-date stuff. And you may like to consider what opinion if any your character has on the new Vallornguard sodality (Navarr-centric issues described here).
Thank you both for the replies These look like super helpful links. I have a lot of reading to do!
There’s also “The Book of the Vallorn”, a hard-back book that contains everything we knew at a particular point in time (which, I think was pre-this (One last song - Empire), so it’s out of date), but has some great pictures. There are about 40? 50? copies circulating the player group, including a copy in the Anvil Library
