Just wondering if warpaint before battle is acceptable or not, just read or blue stripes.
not aware of anything against it
Itâs liable to lead to you being confused with the crayon-faced murder monkeys⌠I mean Navarri.
Although itâs not down in what Wintermark are not, painting up before a fight is very much down in what Navarri are on their wiki pages.
I wouldnât do it, because itâs lifting the major tradition of another nation. Similarly, if you went on about the glory of your PCâs heroic deeds all the time, youâd sound Dawnish, Glory being their specific term they love.
Canât say I agree. I think wearing warpaint in Navarr seems to have specific connotations, spirals, thorns, marking out groups like others use livery. Avoiding those Navarri traditions I think it would be fine. In fact I think there would be quite a bit of crossover with the Kallevesi and painting ones face (I reckon mud ala fullers earth would be popular - mud from the marshes of heroes).
My character wears face paint after he changed his skein to a Stormcrow. I donât think my own facepaint intrudes upon the Navarri traditions at all; I donât use spirals, I donât really use red much, my colour palate remains one of the cold climate of northern wintermark like the ice that would cling to one face in the coldest regions of the Suaq wastes.
In short, avoid the Navarri motifs, go for a cold palate rather than a red or âwoodlandâ themed colours and I think it would be fine.
^that.
Yeah, thereâs a few Wintermark people who wear some facepaint, but I think Michaelâs got it right. Iâve been wearing âbirdishâ face paint since E1, never been confused!
The Rangers of Nanuk once wore warpaint. We daubed ourselves up in black and white before battle, and wore our blue scarves with pride.
This all changed after E3 last year when, mistaking the mass of white-faced scouts running out of the forest in blue scarves fur the Thule, we almost got attacked by our own side.
I think some of the âblock colouringâ - half a face, a quarter of a face - would work quite well for wintermark also:

I know Braveheart wasnât exactly the most authentic portrayal ofâŚwell, anything, but as a nation of mostly-bearded frothing badasses I donât think it would look amiss.
Ok cheers guys for the feed back
Iâll get some blue facepaint then! Im thinking possibly a âcoldâ version of the Turisas facepaint turisas.com/site/wp-content/ ⌠_band2.png
Iâm thinking more going with daubing oneself with mud than facepaint per se.
