Would tarot readings and fortune telling be a thing in the Empire?
As a follow up from my previous questions, my group seem to be settling on The League as our chosen nation and the idea of dramaturgy interested us in the form of masks. With this in mind the archetype of mountebank intrigued us as new players and this arose a conversation in which an idea was pitched of being some sort of fantasy fortune teller. Would activies such as reading tarot fit into empire and the league in that way?
This all started due to the potentially cursed city of Holberg being brought up as a potential home base, ways of earning a little bit of coin and because as a group are current planned aesthetic is death and baroque themed.

In the trading game the phrase “it takes money to make money” holds true.
I’ve used banking to use other people’s money to make money (out of which I pay interest). I came up with the idea for perhaps my third or fourth event. It also creates interesting RP connections by being someone’s banker.

Most of the not super contentious in IC religion sense divination stuff is more akin to long range spying with magic than “what will the future hold for us?”

You could cast some night divination rituals such as Signs and Portents - Empire or use Goosewhisper and then use the results to flavour your readings.
